Because the cross is a scandal, it goes against everything the world stands for

Verse 27 "But God chose what is foolish in he world to shame the wise" - you are where you are right now not because of your own human endeavors but only because the salvation of Christ. Our calling is because of our weaknesses, not because of our talents

2 Corinthians 12:9 my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness

Meant to have it

God knows.
He has not turned his face away. The very fact that we long for the change we do is a sign that we are meant to have it. Our very dissatisfaction with our weaknesses and struggles points to the reality that continuing to live in them is not our destiny.
