Growing up

When God allows us to walk into trouble and trial, it is because he's going to fashion the image of Christ in us.

I know that I'm a different person after all that has happened the first semester. The hardships and the natural progression of life (daddy's job, them leaving, me growing independent) has truly changed me and I can feel it. Most of all I feel God's presence in my life stronger than ever and for that I am truly glad. I feel empowered by Him, I feel that my relationship with my creator is better than ever. I reply on Him and I know that I need him so dearly. I am clinging onto Him. He is my anchor.

Day by day the LORD takes care of the innocent,
and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.
They will not be disgraced in hard times;
even in famine they will have more than enough.
Psalms 37:18-19

The LORD directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the LORD holds them by the hand.
Psalms 37:23-24

The LORD rescues the godly;
he is their fortress in times of trouble.
The LORD helps them,
rescuing them from the wicked.
He saves them,
and they find shelter in him.
Psalms 37:39-40

Why am I here?

Abram was scared of Isaac going back to Heran (as a detour). Abram's father, Tetra, was supposed to go to Canann but he ended up staying in Heran. Throughout his life, Abram probably watched his father grow further from God, slowly slip away. In order to protect Isaac from the same fate his father had, he insisted that his servant not bring Isaac away. His response is animated and eager, he feels strongly about it. (Genesis 24:6-9)

We learn from the mistakes of those we around us.
