Lately I've been trying to be a more well rounded person by reading the news (Strait Times, New York Times, BBC, The Economy) and watching TED talks. Tonight I watched a TED talk that intrigued me. The speaker discussed her findings about how standing in a "high power position" for just two minutes will lead to your testosterone levels increasing (meaning that you feel more confident) and your cortisol levels decreasing (cortisol causes you to feel smaller). She maintains that if you continue to position your body in "high power positions" for multiple situations and during multiple times, you will gradually become that person you strive to be.
I am amazed at her findings and want to try. Before my exam, may I stand in the pose of superwoman and pray for confidence, wisdom, calmness. Before a class that I am unsure of, may I remember to stand and command that synergy. Before an exam, may I sit with my arms and legs stretched out. I want to become superwoman.
